Es rara. Esa es la respuesta que doy casi cada vez que alguien pregunta sobre nuestra congregación. Pero la Comunidad de Christos no solo es rara, también es incómoda.
Y eso es por diseño.
Ser un humilde seguidor de Jesucristo es incómodo. Tener que dejar de lado las preferencias culturales de uno en beneficio de otros y para la gloria de Dios, es incómodo. Y ese es el resultado final del discipulado en un entorno culturalmente diverso, como el nuestro.
La buena noticia es que hay un crecimiento al ser estirado por el Señor, porque allí Él elimina todos los sistemas de apoyo que no se basan en Su Persona y Obra, allí Él confronta nuestra idolatría y lo que queda es una visión clara e ininterrumpida de Él.
Es incómodo y doloroso ser obediente al Señor, para que otros puedan beneficiarse, pero también es un lugar de gozo, satisfacción e intimidad.
¿Cómo está desafiando el Dios Trino del Universo tu visión de seguridad y comodidad? ¿Dónde te está llamando a ser obediente, en beneficio de otras personas? Oremos para que podamos imitar Su amor por nosotros. Amor que Él demuestra con obediencia, humillación y sacrificio … para Su gloria y nuestro beneficio,

It’s weird. That’s the answer I give almost every time someone asks about our congregation. But Christos Community is not only weird, it’s also uncomfortable.
And that is by design.
To be a humble follower of Jesus Christ is uncomfortable. Having to set aside one’s cultural preferences for the benefit of others and for God’s glory, is uncomfortable. And that is the end result of discipleship in a setting that is culturally diverse, like ours.
The good news is that there is growth in being stretched by the Lord, because there He removes all support systems not based on His Person and Work, there He confronts our idolatry and what is left is a clear, uninterrupted view of Him.
It’s uncomfortable and painful to be obedient to the Lord, so that others may benefit, but it’s also a place of joy, fulfillment, and intimacy.
How is the Triune God of the Universe challenging your view of safety and comfort? Where is he calling you to be obedient, for the benefit of someone else? Let us pray that we may be able to imitate His love for us. Love He’s demonstrated with obedience, humiliation, and sacrifice… for His glory and our benefit,
