1 Corinthians 2:1-5.
These verses are very liberating, especially for a preacher like me. Here, Paul points to the centrality of the cricifixion of Christ, and not to technicques or eloquence, as the source of power for the message he is preaching. He is practicing what he said we should do, back in 1:31; Paul is boasting in the Lord, he is finding his satisfaction, the compass he needs for this life, his point of reference in the cross of Christ. Why? Because at the cross God’s justice and love meet in perfect harmony. Is this effective? Paul says it is… and God gives the evidence of His work, “…in demostration of the Spirit and power”.
