fruitLife is fast… emails and bills pile up… the needs of family and friends are beyond what we can even think about… and when we dare to really look at the broken condition of the world around us, it becomes overwhelming.

So let’s stop and feast on Christ… let’s prayerfully consider who He is… let’s look at Him with scripture and the descriptions we find in a song called “Consolador”…

“Consolador” & scripture

mi porción: My portion… if I don’t get the portion of food or money or recognition that I want, He is better than it all.  Psalm 73:26

mi fuerza: My strength… we tire physically, emotionally, mentally, but He does not. And He shares His limitless strength with us.  Isaiah 40:30-31

Cordero y león: Lamb and Lion… perfect meekness and innocence combined with infinite brute strength.  Revelation 5:5-6

mi juez: my Judge… no matter what injustice plays over and over in my mind, He sees and cares and will ensure all is right in the end.  Deuteronomy 32:4

mi redentor: my Redeemer… we weren’t just going the wrong direction, we were slaves, owned by another, destined for eternal punishment… until He bought us.  Titus 2:13-14

Creador del cielo la tierra y mar: Creator of heaven, earth, and sea… there is nothing that He did not make, even the bricks and brains and breath we use to build are from Him.  Colossians 1:16

How about you?

Which of these attributes of God is most meaningful to you today?

Are there any that you have a hard time believing?  What scripture relates to this attribute of His?

If you still have some time, take a few moments to read the quote by Norman Douty at the bottom of this page and top of the next.  What would it look like for you to take a step toward that kind of worshipful rest?
