James 2.

Do I need some reasons to believe in God? or are faith and evidence mutually exclusive? Many people wear leaps of faith as honor badges, showing that they need nothing to believe God will act according to their faith.

The truth is that before I had the ability to believe, i.e. before I had faith, God was already demonstrating His love and grace for me. In Romans 5 we read

6For(J) while we were still weak, at the right time(K) Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8but(L) God shows his love for us in that(M) while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

And then, in 1 John 4, 19(A) We love because he first loved us.

So, if faith is not the result of a superhuman effort to believe in God, without any assistance, then… what is it? Faith is a gift, a confirmation, and a propeller. And God has given us plenty of evidence that He can sustain this faith that comes from Him.
