It always moves me when someone tells me they were thinking about me. The reason their thought process included me is not that important, to me, but just the fact that out of all the things and persons they could occupy their mind with, for a few moments, their mental resources were allocated to this individual, who is full of shortcomings and is not, really, all that interesting.
And if someone gives me a gift… Oh, man! Wow! This person spent actual money to get me something… that’s amazing!
To know that you are that important to someone is one of the biggest sources of satisfaction, hope, and security that there is.
It reminds you: you are loved and you matter to someone.
Now, multiply that for infinity and you will start to get an idea of the dimensions of God’s love for you. In John 11, the Evangelist reminded us that, despite all the bad responses people were giving to our Lord, Christ Jesus still demonstrated His love and authority. And His love was expressed in terms of Caiaphas’ prophecy and the context of the Passover: the Christ had to died for the benefit of those who belong to Him.
In other words, we are reminded that His love for us is demonstrated by His obedience to the Father, His humiliation in His incarnation, and His sacrifice (death) on the cross in our behalf.
That is how much He loves you. That is the way you and I are loved by the Triune God of the Universe.
You are loved by Him and you matter to Him.
Christian, others need to know about this love story. People all around you are in desperate need to know and experience this love.
Don’t keep this story secret.
And as you get ready for worship Him this Sunday morning, remember the way He loves you and come prepared to express your gratitude toward Him, in the company of His people.

Siempre me conmueve cuando alguien me dice que estaban pensando en mí. La razón por la que su proceso de pensamiento me incluyó no es tan importante para mí, sino el hecho de que de todas las cosas y personas con las que pudieron ocupar su mente, por un momento, sus recursos mentales se asignaron a esta persona, que es lleno de deficiencias y no es, realmente, tan interesante.
Y si alguien me da un regalo … ¡Hombre! ¡Guauu! Esta persona gastó dinero real para comprarme algo … ¡eso es increíble!
Saber que eres tan importante para alguien es una de las mayores fuentes de satisfacción, esperanza y seguridad que existe.
Te recuerda de esto: eres amado y le importas a alguien.
Ahora, multiplica eso por el infinito y comenzarás a tener una idea de las dimensiones del amor de Dios por ti. En Juan 11, el evangelista nos recordó que, a pesar de todas las malas respuestas que las personas le estaban dando a nuestro Señor, Cristo Jesús todavía demostró su amor y autoridad. Y su amor se expresó en términos de la profecía de Caifás y el contexto de la Pascua: el Cristo tenía que morir para el beneficio de aquellos que le pertenecen.
En otras palabras, se nos recuerda que su amor por nosotros se demuestra por su obediencia al Padre, su humillación en su encarnación y su sacrificio (muerte) en la cruz en nuestro lugar.
Eso es lo mucho que te ama. Esa es la forma en que tú y yo somos amados por el Dios Triuno del Universo.
Eres amado por Él y le importas.
Cristiano, otros necesitan saber sobre esta historia de amor. La gente a tu alrededor tiene una necesidad desesperada de conocer y experimentar este amor.
No mantengas esta historia en secreto.
Y mientras te preparas para adorarle a Él este domingo por la mañana, recuerda la forma en que Él te ama y ven preparado para expresar tu gratitud hacia Él, en compañía de Su pueblo.
